Welcome to Example Federation
Welcome to the Yorkshire - South Federation
The Federation was formed in 1983 when the county of Yorkshire was divided into smaller Federations.
There are 70 WIs in South Yorkshire ranging in size from 15 to over 100 members in villages, towns and cities throughout the area. Meetings are held monthly, some in the afternoon and others in the evening.
We cover a fairly compact area from Harthill with Woodall on the Nottinghamshire border; Ingbirchworth on the West Yorkshire border; Thorne & District on the East Yorkshire border; High Levels on the North Lincolnshire border; and Dungworth Storrs on the edge of the Peak District. The main cities are Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
The Federation has a newsletter, News 'n' Views, which has a circulation of over 1,000 copies. All events organised by the various sub-committees are advertised in this monthly publication. We have Council meetings in the Spring and Autumn at a variety of venues throughout the region. All members are welcome at these events. These meetings give members a chance to hear and vote on Federation affairs and also to hear excellent guest speakers. We are a very friendly group of women who welcome anyone to our meetings.
